NEW MAYBELLINE LIMITED EDITION SMOKES PALETTE!

Looks like they have finally decided to release the SMOKES edition of the 12-eyeshadow palette! Remember the NUDES set?! That was released back in June! SO it has finally hit the stores!! I found this display at Superstore! So go check your stores out if you want to pick up the palette. I believe it retails for $13.99! Note that it is not posted on their official website yet.

There is a new colour for the colour elixers and the Kajal Kohl Eye liners!

Try them out and let me know if you like them!

SPOTTED: NEW L'OREAL 12-Day Wear Spectacular Gel Shine Matching Tinted Top Coat

I saw this at my local Shoppers Drug Mart and it was on sale for $9.99.
This is the first time I've seen it so I thought I would share ;)
It comes with 12 new colours! What is really cool about these are that the top coat is the same colour as the actual nail polish!!!

Regular: $11.99

You can find out more information on the line at their official website: http://www.lorealparis.ca/cosmetics/nails/infallible-nail-polish/gris-eternel.aspx

Review is up on my channel with some lip swatches! Go Check it out :)

Weekly Drugstore Roundup?

Hey beauties:)

I suck at this whole blog thing cause I prefer watching people on youtube. But the one odd time I am in the store, reading blogs are easier. My favourite blogger Nouveau Cheap is on a haitus and she ALWAYS does weekly drugstore round ups for beauty products and its for americanos. I have been searching high and low for ones in Canada or another blog that does that in general and I am thinking since I am always searching in the flyers anyways I should just type it out for y'all to see :) CAPICHE?!

perfect. Im gonna try to be super consistent with this..

Top 5 Hard Candy Products

Can only be found in Walmart! Hard Candy prices in America and in Canada are the exact same! It is one of the few brands that stay consistent with their prices. However I have never seen them on sale unless they were discontinuing the item.

HERE IS THE VIDEO:
** As you notice, I spend more time with my video than my blog posts. I apologize!!

1) Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer in Tiki - $9
The most beautiful highlight shade and a dupe for the Balm Mary-Loumanizer :)

2) Hard Candy Contouring Trio in 3 Strikes
Full review here!

3) Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer with Concealer Pencil in medium - $6
This is a full coverage concealer, I LOVE IT. Covers ANYTHING.

4) Hard Candy Top 10 Eye Shadow Palette in Neutrals or Smoky- $6

While I find these super pigmented some of the shades can come out chalky. Be careful of fallout. For the price it is totally worth it and one of my reached palettes!

The prettiest lip pencil, smooth and creamy. Glides on and stays on your lips for a long time!

Dislike: Hard Candy Fox in a Box in Truth or Dare - $6

Closet Confidential Tag

I am pretty sure all my posts are inspired by my videos I create... whoops sorry!
HERE'S THE VIDEO:

My friend requested I do this tag! So I did this one for her :)

1. What is the oldest item in your wardrobe/closet?
My purple sesame street shirt. I got this shirt way back in the day maybe when I was 11. I think that's a reasonable age to still be watching sesame street...

2. What is the newest item?
I realize the winter jacket I mentioned was literally the last thing I bought because I haven't gone clothes shopping in forever. It was meant for the winter... AND vancouver likes to lag behind its still cold and rainy sometimes so that is when I crack out the jacket I got from RW&Co.

3. What is the most expensive item?
Chanel clutch I got in Japan. I cant find it anywhere online. BOO.

4. What is the cheapest/most affordable item? (that you wear/use a lot!)
Forever 21 Tank top. I wear a different colour everyday. I wish I was kidding

5. What was the biggest bargain?
LC skinny Jeans! They were originally $60 and I got them for $6!! That't 90% off.

6. What was the biggest waste of money?
Colourful neon dress I got from Urban Outfitters. Still haven't worn it.

BONUS QUESTION - Show us your three favourite items right now!
1) TNA tights
2) Sweater or Cardigan
3) Call it spring infinity scarf

I got mine from superstore for $6.99. Let me know what you think!

What Are You Giving Up For Lent?

Give you some background context for this randomness.

For all those who don't know what Lent is... It is a religious observance in the religion for Christianity. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Thursday in the Roman Catholic Church. This is in preparation of catholics through prayer, penance and recognizing their sins which lead into Good Friday (Jesus' Death) to Easter Sunday (the resurrection of Jesus Christ)

During this time, many Roman Catholics give up something they love for lent which lasts until Easter (celebration) and it is roughly six weeks.

This year Ash Wednesday is on March 5 and Easter Sunday is on April 20.

I am planning to give up many things:
  • No Make-Up buying
  • No Junk food
  • No Alcohol
  • (No Meat is something you should already be doing)

Top 5 Maybelline Products

You know how it is.. with these top 5 Products from each line. Maybelline was by far THE HARDEST!!! OH dear.

Here is the Video Review, Please check it out:

Maybelline EyeStudio Gel Liner in Blackest Black - $6 to $8
I have three of the shades! The Black, Brown and Eggplant! I am obsessed with these Gel Liners. They last for a solid 4 months before they start to dry! The brush it comes with is the best! Easy to line the eyelid with and create that flawless cat liner. This is by far one of the best drugstore gel liners on the market. I have super oily eyelids and it does not transfer, really pigmented and application is smooth and dries so it wont budge.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind in Neutralizer - $9.96
This is my go to eraser for those dark circles! Being a student I barely sleep. This formula is hydrating, lasts all day, really easy to blend into the under eye area and provides coverage to hide the discolouration. It comes with a sponge applicator on the top and is a twist up! So much product jammed in for $10! I have backups of these babies!

Maybelline Eye Studio Colour Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze - $6.96

Maybelline Volum' Express in Black Drama Waterproof - $6.96
You want drama? Okay well settle down, cause its about to get LOUD or just volumized. Ha! I'm talking about your eyelashes! The waterproof one is my go to because it holds a curl better and it makes my eyelashes appear longer and volumized! Definitely pick this one if you haven't so already.

Maybelline Colour Vivids Lipstick in Pink Pop - $7.97
Oooooh baby. I cannot rant and rave more about this lipstick! This ALMOST replaces lipbalm I SWEAR! So comfortable on the lips, great bright colours that I honestly wear year round.. The colour on my lips is absolutely outstanding AND it is longwearing! The whole line is amazing and I am obsessed! Don't forget to clear the inside of your lips because having lipstick on your teeth is not good but bright colours are even easier to notice!

An extra BONUS NON-Beauty:
OH MY GOSH! THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST EYE MAKEUP REMOVER EVER. This has an oil to it to moisturize the eyes and AHHH! It removes my waterproof mascara! This takes everything off your face with just ONE cotton round. I have tried a BUNCH of eye removers but nothing compares to this one. Note of caution though, if you don't like oil eyelid feeling then skip this. BUT the feeling goes away pretty soon.

THANK YOU. Let me know if there is something that I should try from Maybelline! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this brand! By far my favourite drugstore because I have always loved everything they released.

Top 5 Covergirl Products

Hey Guys :)

CoverGirl I feel mixed emotions towards you!!! A lot of the face and eye products that are super personal to a person and I feel like are geared towards Caucasian women. I have tried a couple of their foundations which are really thick and creamy and are too heavy for my complexion. I also went out to buy a number of their mascaras and just hated them. It did absolutely nothing for my eyelashes. I have really small ones that are stubby and stubborn that go straight downwards. So the mascara's don't really work for me. I have compiled a list of 5 products that will not fail you!

Here is my Video Review, please watch for the rundown:

1. Cover Girl Eye Enhancers 3-Kit Eyeshadow in Golden Sunset or Sea Glass - $6.49
One of my most loved and used eyeshadow palettes. It offers three brown shades ranging from the highlight to the all over the lid and the crease colour. It really makes brown eyes stand out and can easily be transitioned from day time to night looks! They do not crease on me and if you stick a primer underneath it will last longer and be more vibrant! There is a bit of fallout so don't forget to tap off the excess. It is really creamy, easy to blend and pigmented! Very ideal for everyday and to stick in the makeup purse for on the go!

2) CoverGirl Clean Pressed Oil Control Powder in Tawny - $6.97
I use this to contour my face! Yes this is a pressed powder, meaning it is MEANT to blend into your face flawlessly! This colour is the perfect tint to make it look like a shadow instead of orange and off on my skintone. What makes it even better is that it is a oil control powder so oil free face! You can also try it as a powder which will do the trick too. :) I personally love it for both powder and contouring. It won't cake up your foundation or concealer. Design is sleek, with a big enough mirror to touch up during the day with the puff it provides you. Bonus: Catch it on sale and its really inexpensive!

3. CoverGirl TRUBlend Fixstick Concealer in Medium Deep - $9.97
If you loved the L'Oreal Super Blendable Crayon Concealer, you will love this more! It has a really plastic smell and I noticed it more when I was using it to contour my nose. I swear I contour in my everyday routine just because I have such a circle face. This is so easy to blend into the skin, does not cake up. I recommend this for on the go, the way it is packaged is a twistable pen and the cap doesn't fall off when moving travelling. If you use this normally it will cancel our those dark under eye circles as well as hide the puffiness, & finer lines. It is not as moisturizing so make sure you moisturize before your regular face routine.

 4) Covergirl TRUMagic Skin Perfecter in 110 The Sunkisser - $11.97
Oooooh this is a really fun product that I had to include. ABSOLUTELY LOVE this texture! IT is a silicone-gel formula with a yellow undertone. After application it will have a powder finish. Again I did not find it drying because I always wear moisturizer underneath. It is really easy to blend and just something that is fun and innovative in the drugstore world! Packaging is really huge and not suitable for travel, but it really works for my skin as a contour :)

5. CoverGirl LipPerfection Lipstick in Enchantress - $8.47
I would probably replace this lipstick with my lipbalms. They are very comfortable to wear on the lips! They offer such a huge colour range and for all different skin types! They are super moisturizing and do not settle in to those lip lines that I hate so much! They last for a very long time, approximately 5-6 hours before I had to reapply.

Covergirl is not one of my top drugstore brands I gravitate towards but there are some gems in the rough. I plan to try out more things in the line in the future! Let me know what you think of the products down below

Wet N Wild Megaslick Balm Stain: Review and Swatches

Helllllllllooooo!

Brigning to you the Wet n Wild Megaslick Balm stains!
Here is my video review if you are interested:

From Top to Bottom:

Nudist Colony: Pale Tan / Nude
Red-Dy or Not: Classic Red
Lady and the Vamp: Deep Cranberry Colour
Rico Mauve: Your lips but better! A muted rose/mauve
A Stiff Pink: Bright cool blue undertone, pink
Pinky Promise: A frost light pink

From Left to Right:
Lady and the Vamp, Red-Dy or Not, Rico Mauve, Stiff Pink, Pinky Promise, Nudist Colony

Wet N Wild has done it again! Cheap drugstore lippies for the win :) They have released 6 new shades in their line called the Megaslick Balm Stains! You can find them anywhere that sells Wet n Wild. It hasn't been released in Canada yet, (not that I've seen). I am such a huge fan of chubby lip balm stick/stains! It is low maintenance, long lasting, really easy application and travel friendly! The packaging of these products are super sleek and simple, I love it EXCEPT the cap always falls off and creates a big mess!

Overall, I love three of these shades the best and recommend the Red-Dy or Not for anyone who loves red, Rico Mauve for the everyday wear, and A Stiff pink for that bright pop of pink you need in your life. The two that don't really stand out is the pinky promise and the nudist colony, they do not show up on my lips too much. These are totally worth a try! Not really the best moisturizing thing for your lips but doesn't dry it out but it does leave a stain behind after 4-5 hours of wear time. The product itself is a soft texture and not as hard as the Revlon Just Bitten/Colourburst sticks therefore the product will wear down faster. If you don't mind spending an extra couple bucks, go out and try them! I still recommend the Rimmel Colourburst Balms because they are well rounded, smell like vanilla and just AMAZING.

Breakdown:

Size: 3.0 g each
Packaging: Twist up, Cap falls off easily in purse
Shade Range: 6 in Total
Price: $2.99+
Available: Walmart

Let me know what you think!

Rimmel Colour Rush Balm: Review and Swatches

YAYYY Go CANADA! One up for us. I'm usually always stuck waiting for them to come out as they are released in America first! I was curious whether they were going to change the packaging on it for American's because the word "colour" is spelled Canadian and not American (color).I guess it's not a big deal ;)

Here is my video if you want to see the colours on my lips:

Top to bottom: Lady Marmalade, On Fire, The Redder the Better, Boom Chicka Boom.

Left to Right: The Redder the Better, On Fire, Lady Marmalade, Boom Chicka Boom.

I found these at Walmart for $5.98 CAD as well as Target!! Go get them now. Because the colour selection is so vast and they are very complimentary to many different skin tones. They are so comfortable to wear on the lips and offer such vibrant colours. The texture of the actual balm is hard and therefore the product does not wear down that quickly. They smell like VANILLA, so yummy and that is an added bonus. The price point is just right and the quality just glides on and does not settle into the fine lines of your lips but leaves an even stain behind. The actual balm itself has a really glossy finish and lasts anywhere from 3-4 hours depending on what your doing. They are not super drying and they feel really light on your lips. This is easy to take on the go, the cap doesn't fall out AND it is a balm so it's perfect for the dry weather we are experiencing.

I prefer these over the Wet N Wild Megaslicks, Revlon Lip butters and definitely the new Revlon Colourburst Laquers and Matte Collection. My favourites are the Redder the Better and Boom Chicka BOOM!

Thursday Thirteen: Winter Favourites!! From Fashion to Lifestyle!

Winter is the time to bring out your warm knits, sweaters and LAYERS. Here is my list of things I love especially in the winter in video and text form :)

  1. Beauty (Face): Covergirl TruBlend Fixstick Concealer $9.97
This season, ditch the blush completely and let your natural flush from the cold air. Instead, use the concealer stick to contour your face. This stick has a creamy consistency and blends really well into your skin.
  2. Beauty (Eyes): Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner $26.00
Thin Black Line was a rage back in the 60's using a skinny black line on your top eye. Stila does such an incredible job with this liner as it has a felt tip which really gives you precision and once it sets, it does not budge. Definitely a favourite of mine.
  3. Beauty (Lips): Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Fushia Flash $5.50
Hands down, the most BEST drugstore lipstick on the market right now. I am such a lip junkie.. I collect lipsticks because they are so pretty to display. It's a bad addiction.
  4. Beauty (Nail Polish): Deborah Lipman It's Raining Men Nail Polish $20.00
I love Deborah Lipman's nail polishes! If a designer specializes in making only one product, you know it's good. Red nails is such a classic look on your nails, it is high maintenance but it just makes your fingers and hands look so damn attractive. Just a classic creme nail, application with so much ease and very opaque colour pay off.
  5. Fashion: Button Up Cardigans from Dynamite $44.98
I can throw one of these bad boys INSTANTLY over any t-shirt or tank. The buttons on a cardigan is a must because it can be worn opened and then if it gets nippy, button up! This sweater that I absolutely adore has the grey texture that I fall in love with time and time again.
  6. Fashion: Beanie from eBay $3.20
Keeps your warm head! The most important part of your body. To keep it fashionable and chic is a whole new level. I found this really cute beanie on eBay for less than $4!! That is cray.
  7. Candles: Red Velvet Cupcake from Bath and Body Works $10.00
Prepare for your room to smell like a cupcake shop. This legitimately smells like the cupcake, if you know what it tastes like this is the exact smell. Everytime it is lit, it makes me feel like I ate the cupcake then I won't have to go out and buy one. :)
  8. Fitness: Hot Yoga Price Varies
Try it out this season. There are so many different varieties and the one I absolutely adore is Moksha. It is cold outside.. if ya didn't know.. and the best feeling is entering a warm room after being hit with a gust of cold air. After you feel SO refreshed and ready to go on with your day. I usually pick up hot yoga in the winter and ditch it in the warmer months because you got to enjoy what God gave you!
  9. Food: Dim Sum
    Need I say more?
  10. Snack: Angie's Boom Chica Pop Popcorn $3.99
Where do I start with this... this popcorn is all naturale!! With only 35 calories a cup, the thirst is REAL. This is gluten free, tastes super light and just enough salt and oil to make you eat literally the WHOLE bag. It is embarrassing to tell you how many I ate on vacation. You know how you scan the ingredient list, I was taken aback to see that there is only 3 including: popcorn, sunflower oil and sea salt.
  11. Dessert: YOGURTLAND $0.30 - $0.50 per ounce
This may only be in America... but I had the pleasure of trying it while I was in LA. You can be part of the club with me. We can be friends and bond over how this guilty pleasure is so YUMMY yet still kind of healthy for you! This is yogurt so it contains less calories, and a LOT healthier than ice cream and the toppings is an array of fruits and desserts. Each flavour is approximately 20-35 calories per ounce.  Swirl safely!
  12. Tea: David's Tea Alphine Punch $7.50 per 50 grams
Prepare your tastebuds for an explosion of apples and almonds!! This is a seasonal winter tea that should be a permanent tea in their collection. It smells so warm and when it hits your tongue it just warms the whole body. You can really taste the Almond in the tea, the fruity combination balances the whole tea and embodies winter in a cup or mug... pick your thingy to put the tea in ;)
  13. Song: The First Cut is the Deepest by Sheryl Crow

I've been kicking it back old school and this song just reminds me of the good ol' days. It makes me feel all tingly and cozy. It is also SO easy to sing to which is the songs I love to listen. I'm a country girl at heart.

I'm sneaking in one more song cause I want you to try it as well!
If I Didn't Have You - Thompson Square

I put so much effort into thinking about all my favourites! Let me know what your favourites are and if you try any of mine!
